A SECOND SPRING
As with all phases and initiations of a woman life, the birth of the Maga is no exception as a rite of passage. As this is the season when you, as a woman, will give birth to the next version of YOU. In this birthing process you will undergo PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, MENTAL and SPIRITUAL changes.
You may be familiar with the seasonal female archetype called the ‘Maiden’ – perhaps you have a pre-pubescent daughter? You may also be familiar with the other archetypes ‘Mother’ and the ‘Crone’ (affectionately known as Grandma), but have you ever heard of the ‘Maga’?
Think of the four archetypes as seasons:
Maiden (SPRING)
Mother (SUMMER)
Maga (or Wild Woman) (AUTUMN)
Crone (or Wise Woman) (WINTER).
The Maga is the menopausal woman, who is beginning the second half of her life: her autumn. These are the wild woman years before she enters the final stage, or winter of her life, as the Crone (the Wise Woman years) at around 65-70 years of age.
